Biography

Kate Shepherd (b. 1961) lives and works in New York, NY. Shepherd attended Atelier Lucio Loubet in Paris, France in 1979; she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982 from Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH; received a Master’s Certificate in 1986 from New York Academy of Art in New York, NY; attended Atelier Lucio Loubet in  Paris, France and International School of Art in Todi, Italy in 1989; attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in New York, NY in 1990; and received a Masters of Fine Art degree in 1992 from the School of Visual Arts in New York, NY.

 

Shepherd is the recipient of the 2008 Jill Marino Fellowship, Publishing Residency, Lower East Side Printshop, New York, NY; the 2005 Lab Grant Program Residency, Dieu Donné Paper Mill, New York, NY; the 1999 Lannan Foundation, Artist Residency, Santa Fe, NM; the 1998 MacDowell Colony Award, Peterborough, NH; the 1997 Chinati Foundation, Print Studio Residency, Marfa, TX; the 1995 Chinati Foundation, Artist Residency, Marfa, TX; the 1994 MacDowell Colony Award, Peterborough, NH; the 1993 MacDowell Colony Award, Peterborough, NH; and the 1992 Paula Rhodes Award, School of Visual Arts, New York, NY.
