Anthony Meier Fine Arts is pleased to present the lesser light, an exhibition of new work by Barnaby Furnas on view from 15 September thru 9 October.

the lesser light combines Furnas's longtime interests in music and history, igniting a conversation on performance, costume, masquerade and persona.

Intertwining his established rock concert series, vibrant structured visuals of musicians on stage and in portrait, with a new series documenting the Philadelphia Mummers, costumed entertainers welcoming in the New Year, Furnas investigates the anonymity found within a crowd, both as a participant and an observer.

Exhibiting nationally and internationally since receiving his MFA from Columbia University in 2000, Furnas will open a solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver, on 25 September. A mid-career survey exhibition starts at the Ft. Worth Museum of Modern Art in 2012.
